A GROUP of intrepid Nairn County supporters will scale the UK’s highest peak to raise funds for the club.
It is the second time that fans of the club have climbed Ben Nevis in a fundraising effort.
The group will be led by ex-County defender Ali Nicol and all monies raised will be split between Nairn County and Nairn St Ninian.
Ali said: “In September 2013, eighteen Nairn County supporters climbed Ben Nevis and helped raise £5,000, which was utilised for the Nairn County Supporters Ground Improvements Fund and resulted in the superb Davy Johnston Enclosure.
“In a little over five weeks’ time, a much larger group are going to make the same climb and monies raised will be put towards running costs and ground improvements at both clubs in Nairn.”
Ali added: “The general public in Nairn and beyond have really supported both clubs in the past and hopefully this main fundraiser will help both clubs prosper for the forthcoming 2017/18 season.
“If you would like to help, please donate by clicking on the link below, contact one of the walkers or speak to Heather Stevenson in Uncle Bobs. Any donation will be gratefully received.
“Thanks for your support in the past and hopefully your continued support in the future.”
