NAIRN County's North of Scotland Cup campaign came to a disappointing end following a penalty shootout defeat to local rivals Forres Mechanics in round 1.

A HEALTHY crowd turned out at the Showfield to witness Nairn County put in their most impressive performance of pre-season in a local derby match against Nairn St Ninian, writes Graeme Macleod.

The visitors ran out 8-1 winners having led 5-0 at half time.

Flood Lights Upgrade completed

Having already met the SFA National Club Licence Criteria in 2012 it is important to enhance our floodlight capacity further both in overall performance and operational efficiency resulting in major financial saving for the Club.

D. C. Lighting designed and installed the overall upgrade scheme in 2012 with the provision for phased improvements completed today (23rd July 2014) will mean the Club have completed Phase 2 on time and again on budget.

The Club have made two new signings -

  • Sam Urquhart (Centre forward) from Elgin City on a 2 year contract.
  • Chris Moir (Mid-field) an ex-Junior and Highland League player also on a 2 year contract.
