RONNIE Sharp was satisfied with what he saw at Station Park this afternoon as Nairn County were given a stern workout by Inverness Athletic in a competitive friendly.

Gary Kerr opened the scoring just before half time with Gregg Main stroking home a penalty shortly after the restart.

STUFFY Inverness Athletic gave Nairn County a tough work out at Station Park with Jordan Macrae's late double adding some gloss to a comfortable scoreline.

Willie Barron retires

WILLIE Barron has left the club and retired from football.

The 36-year-old returned to the club in the summer and made seven appearances this season.

Manager Ronnie Sharp said: "Willie came to us this week at training and said he would be hanging up the boots and taking a break from football. Of course, we are disappointed to lose a player of Willie's calibre and experience but we completely understand his reasons."

NAIRN County under-20s turned the tables on Clachnacuddin with three late goals to claim the points in a dramatic finale to this North of Scotland League game at Station Park.

T was a superb display from Nairn County at Harmsworth Park as they bagged five goals, looked dangerous every time they ventured forward and defended vigorously to restrict in-form hosts Wick Academy to just a couple of half chances throughout a 90 minutes during which the visitors always looked the better side.
